Harriet had lost four young sons, Georgie, James, Frankie, and Fred, in 5 years. Georgie, James, and Frankie all died in December 1869, I assume because of an epidemic. Fred was her solace, born a little over a year later, but then he succumbed in 1874. - info from John Johnsen
